Journal History

The Mesopotamian Journal of Computer Science (MJCSC) was established in 2021 under the Mesopotamian Academic Press (MAP) and organized by Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University with the mission of fostering high-quality scientific research in computer science and related fields. Since its founding, MJCSC has grown into a reputable international platform connecting researchers, engineers, and academicians to exchange knowledge and promote innovation in computing and information technology.

The journal began as a fully online, open-access publication, adopting a modern, digital-first publishing model that ensures global accessibility and rapid dissemination of research. In 2025, MJCSC achieved a significant milestone by being indexed in Scopus, recognizing its academic quality, rigorous peer-review standards, and growing impact within the scientific community. Over the years, the journal has maintained its commitment to ethical publishing, continuous improvement, and advancing global scholarship in the computer science domain

Publishing schedule

The Mesopotamian Journal of Computer Science (MJCSC) publishes one issue per year on an incremental (continuous) basis. This means that accepted articles are published online immediately after the completion of the peer-review and production process, rather than waiting for the full issue to be compiled.

This continuous publication model ensures rapid dissemination of research findings while maintaining flexibility and timeliness for authors and readers. The annual volume typically covers the period from January to December each year. Since its establishment in 2021, MJCSC has consistently followed this publishing schedule, with no changes made to its frequency or release format.
